The discussion is no longer limited to improvisation in models or computing capability, but increasingly concerns how AI can be integrated and utilised to support government, industry, and public services through appropriate infrastructure, governance, data, talent, and institutional capacity.
India's AI ecosystem is evolving through public policy initiatives, research institutions, startups, established technology companies and enterprise adoption. At the same time, the ecosystem faces practical questions relating to compute infrastructure, indigenous foundation models, data availability, commercialisation of research, investment, workforce development, responsible AI, and sector-specific implementation.
